The death of a colleague unexpectedly leaves the path of promotion finally open for Tony Caxton. He now finds himself faced with the prospect of starting a new department charged with plugging security holes at GCHQ. It starts as a routine task, but very quickly takes on a sinister turn for the worse when three prominent workers vanish on their return from a conference. Tony and his assistant, Sue, are quickly on the trail, but not before another worker goes missing. His former police training comes to the fore, helping him to solve the riddle and saving Sue from almost certain death.
