What voice do you find most to your liking: first person or third person?

Without a doubt the third person works best as you can delve into the minds of each of your characters, without the restriction of a single point of view.

What well known writers do you admire most?

Dame Stella Rimington and John le Carre.

What is required for a character to be believable? How do you create yours?

A successful character has to possess and display a range of emotions. The description of the character has to also encompass a physical and psychological profile. I often carry around a small notebook and add entries every time I meet someone interesting or different.

Are you equally good at telling stories orally?

Yes, I have always enjoyed storytelling.

Deep down inside, who do you write for?

Always for myself. If I am not happy with a particular passage I rewrite it until it truly reflects that part of the story I am attempting to tell. I feel that if I am satisfied with it, then the reader should be as well.

Is writing a form of personal therapy? Are internal conflicts a creative force?

Never, writing is a pleasure and I see no need for delving into the depths of one's psyche. It adds so little to the story.

Does reader feed-back help you?

It always helps me enormously, whether it is positive or critical. In both cases it spurs me on to achieve a higher level of perfection.
